Stephanie, a good friend of mine from school, recently gave birth to the sweetest little girl ever, Nico. I'd never done baby portraits (although Colleen had a couple of times) so this whole experience was new and exciting to me. I think they turned out great. I'm really digging baby portraits now!

     Hey everyone! Sorry about the lack of updates lately, I've been super busy getting ready for the Formal Affair bridal show, which was held this past Sunday at the Chattanooga convention center. Met a TON of great people there! It was really hectic, but fun too! Colleen and I had a great time.

     Anyway... on to the point of this post. I sometimes do shoot things that are not wedding related, lol. I occasionally do lifestyle photography for Dalton State College to use for advertising, and they just put out another brochure full of my photos. I took some shots so you non-locals can see. Enjoy!

     My Finao ONE wedding sample albums arrived today, so I took a couple of quick snapshots of them. They come wrapped in this gorgeous paper made from pineapple tree leaves, with a ribbon made from mulberry leaves! The leather itself is hand-made and exquisite. I'm having difficulty expressing with words just how nice these wedding albums are. Instead of normal inkjet prints most people associate with digital photography, they use traditional C-prints, which means the images are projected onto light sensitive Fuji photographic paper and then developed with chemicals as they would be in a traditional darkroom. The color and clarity are superb. Ok, time to stop dorking out about this stuff.

     They have about a million different leather and silk choices for the binding. The possibilities of colors, textures, and patterns are nearly endless! Also, if leather isn't your thing they have plenty of 100% vegan materials.

I love doing shoots with a concept. If you want to do a conceptual shoot I'd be more than thrilled!

      Around this time of the year, all of my old friends from highschool begin making their way back to Dalton from wherever they may be... Atlanta, Athens, Chattanooga... This will be the fifth year for our annual Christmas party, and we're as excited as ever. We have a "board meeting" to discuss budget, guest list, events, decorations, etc and proper attire is mandatory. This was the first year for a board member group photo, but we plan on making it another annual tradition.

     Holly and Jared had a exceptional wedding on an exceptionally rainy day. Their reception was at Frogtown Cellars in Dahlonega, Georgia. It's a vineyard/winery hidden deep in the mountains of north Georgia. The place is really exquisite, and totally secluded, making it a perfect location for a romantic wedding reception.

     I was recently asked by Dalton State College, in Dalton Georgia, if I could take some portraits of a few faculty and students who are being featured in an upcoming publication. The campus is really beautiful, so I was in no shortage of good places to shoot!

     As photographers, it's unusual that we find outselves in front of the camera instead of behind it. Colleen and I decided to have a fun day and take a bunch of photos of ourselves, because we like having our picture made just as much as everyone else! Anyway, it was a great day. Hope you all like the photos as much as we do!

       Although I mostly consider myself a wedding photographer, I still shoot portraits and family portraits. I've been debating with myself about adding a portrait section to my main website.

       Anyway, I recently had nice autumn family portrait session with the Blalock family at Lake Burton. They have two homes here right next to each other in this gorgeous little secluded cove. Anyway, this was a great session. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

        Tiffany and Brian had a lovely wedding at Grandview, on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The place was really incredible, with a stunning view of Chattanooga and very charming architecture. This wedding was so much fun!
